Founder/CEO - Johnny Modiba

Entrepreneur Johnny Modiba, the brains behind Mitchwear, has emerged as one of South Africa’s industrious and innovative business leaders.

Modiba is making an indelible mark with one of his innovative offerings – Mitchwear sneaker. Growing up in Lephepane village in Tzaneen, Limpopo, Modiba had to walk miles barefoot in a quest for a better future. Decades later Modiba struts around in Mitchwear, a colorful and stylish shoe he created and launched in 2022, courtesy of his entrepreneurial explorations. The entrepreneurial bug bit Modiba long before he could count over 45 employees. During his schooling days, Modiba was in the business of selling and supplying fellow pupils with necessities.

Modiba, who holds two qualifications - a Diploma in Computer Studies from Rosebank College and a Diploma in Secretariat from Integrity College, has founded his own institution – K Boneng Skills Academy specializing in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, plumbing, bricklaying, welding, financial management, public management, business management, marketing management, and human resources. K Boneng Skills Academy has two campuses in Tzaneen.

The businessman, who has over a decade and half experience in the SETA industry, is also co-founder of Digni Financial Services, an insurance company he started with South African actor and entrepreneur Thabiso Cornet Mamabolo.

Modiba has graced several platforms heralding the great tidings of Mitchwear on the rise. He has also featured on a number of TV and radio shows, newspapers, and online news outlets, where his success story was shared. He believes:

“Improving the livelihood of your homeland is noble. Every effort to help others, no matter how small, will in turn create a better environment for all. We have to work as much as possible to make sure that our people and country live in better conditions.”
